Slimming World Bolognese Recipe

Last night Ad and I tried a Slimming World Bolognese Recipe which I thought I’d share. It was a vegetarian recipe but I replaced the Quorn for beef mince.

We both liked it. but I think next time I will cut up some lean bacon (cutting off the fat) to add to the flavour.


low calorie cooking spray

500g mince (5% fat or less) or Quorn Mince

1 onion, chopped

1 large carrot, peeled and diced (I used 3 small ones)

3 celery sticks, roughly chopped (we missed this out as neither of us like celery)

4 garlic cloves, roughly chopped

400g can chopped tomatoes

4 tbsp tomato puree

500g passata

1tsp dried mixed herbs

Salt & freshly ground pepper

To Prepare:

  1. Spray a large non-stick pan with low calorie cooking spray and place on a high heat
  2. Add the mince and stir-fry for 2 minutes or until browned, then add your onion, carrot, celery and garlic and stir fry for 1 minute (I did it for about 3-4 minutes)
  3. Add the pasta, tomato puree, chopped tomatoes and dried herbs, seasoning well with salt and pepper and cook on a medium heat for 12-15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

This meal is to serve 4, is ready in less than 30 mins and if you are following Slimming  World, it is Syn free.
